Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT is an evidence-based practice that focuses on understanding our feelings, thoughts and behaviors. CBT allows us to become more aware and understanding of these things. It can be really difficult to prepare for and make changes in our lives when we’re not fully aware of what impacts us the most. With CBT you can gain an understanding of this in order to learn specific coping strategies and tools that translate to your daily life.

Cognitive Anxiety

Anxiety Disorders

Feeling anxious, worried or nervous are normal and expected parts of life. When
anxiety impacts your ability to function, such as feeling overwhelmed and easily
irritated, having difficulty making decisions, overthinking or having challenges
controlling your worry, it can be an indication that additional support is needed. We offer treatment for all types of anxiety, including panic symptoms and phobias.

Depression

We all feel sad or down sometimes, but there is a difference between these feelings and experiencing depression. When a person experiences depression this can look or feel more like feeling sad or down most, if not all of the time, difficulty experiencing joy, loss of interest in activities and hobbies, feelings of hopelessness or helplessness or low frustration tolerance and becoming easily agitated. Depression can also include thoughts of wanting to sleep forever or suicide and we can assist you in creating a safety plan and gaining strategies to manage these thoughts effectively.

Depression Post Trauma

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Trauma

We all go through difficult, painful and challenging moments in our lives and sometimes
even traumatic events. You can experience symptoms of trauma that align for a
diagnosis of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or experience trauma and not have
PTSD. Regardless of how symptoms may be classified, traumatic life experiences are
subjective to the person who has gone through something significant in their life that
may be difficult to manage or cope with. Symptoms of trauma can include nightmares,
flashbacks of the event, avoidance of people, places or things related to the trauma and
impact our mood and thoughts in significant manners. Trauma can also impact our

ability to engage in and maintain healthy relationships. At Blu Orchard all of our
therapists approach care from a trauma-informed lens and are here to create and hold a
safe space for you to address your experiences at your own pace.

LGBTQIA+

Our practice is a safe and inclusive space for everyone. We provide treatment
services to people of all ages who identify with and belong to the LGBTQIA+
community. At Blu Orchard we are allies of the LGBTQIA+ community and look
forward to supporting you in your mental health needs!

LGBTQ Family

Child & Family Services

We offer therapy services for children, teens and families. Therapy with children will include play, art and games to support your child in expressing themselves and gaining tools with developmentally and age-appropriate interventions. Whether your child needs support managing their mood, behaviors at home or in the classroom or is experiencing a new life transition or change, we are here to help. Family therapy includes caregivers and their children and siblings when needed and focuses on establishing healthy communication patterns and goals to work on together and further strengthen family relationships.

Stress Management

We all experience stress in different ways and from different sources. If you’re feeling like you don’t have enough time to do all the things on list, tasks are piling up and you shut down or work is overwhelming your thoughts and affects your mood even when you’re not there, then stress management can provide support. By learning strategies to manage stress effectively it can significantly reduce the physical and mental impacts on our daily life. We offer support with a focus on mindfulness and relaxation techniques.
